Every Mother Counts founded by Christy Turlington Burns, is an organization to end preventable deaths caused by pregnancy and childbirth around the world. EMC informs, engages and mobilizes new audiences to take action to improve the health and well-being of women worldwide. After viewing Christy’s documentary “No Woman No Cry”, we learned that hundreds of thousands of women die each year from pregnancy and childbirth-related causes. 90% of these deaths could be avoided with basic proper medical care. Christy did the voice-over for the spots, which aired during Oprah on Mother’s Day and on the Times Square Jumbotron.
